DELTA GROUPS

Delta Groups are strategically small groups of three that help our church make a stronger commitment to growing together as disciples during the season of Lent.

What is a Delta Group?

Delta Groups are strategically small groups of three that help our church make a stronger commitment to growing together as disciples during the season of Lent. Our hope is that participants become better connected to one another within a small and simple format for discipleship that is designed to create an environment where growth and transformation can take place.

Why are they called Delta Groups?

The groups are called β€œDelta” groups for a few reasons. First, the Greek letter delta (𝚫) looks like a triangle, evoking both the 3 members of the group and also the Trinity β€” the presence of God in the midst of those gathered in His name. Second, as you may remember from your math or science classes, 𝚫 is used to denote a change in something. That is our prayer for Delta Groups β€” that as we follow Jesus together, he would work to change our hearts to be more like him.

What are we asking of you?
Commit to participating in a Delta Group. The three-person group can be long-time friends or brand new acquaintances. You may sign up as a group, or as an individual to be prayerfully placed in a group with two others.
Commit to reading the Bible every day. We will provide a reading guide to help, but you are free to use your own.
Commit to spending time in prayer every day. You can do this at the same time as your Bible reading, or you can set aside a separate time for prayer.
Commit to meeting weekly with your group for a time of sharing and prayer together. Spaces will be provided for meeting in Delta Groups before and after the Sunday service, as well as on Wednesday evenings. However, you can also meet with your group at your home, a coffee shop, or any other space that works for your group.

Our goal is to help our church make a stronger commitment to growing together as disciples during the season of Lent. We commit to spending time reading the Bible and praying because discipleship is first and foremost about listening and responding to Jesus. We meet in groups together because God calls us to discipleship together β€” for accountability, encouragement, and to practice His love.
